Dr. West was born in Nassau, Bahamas and has been a resident of South Florida since 1979. He grew up in the area and attended Palm Beach Gardens High School, where he was proud to be part of the Palm Beach Gardens Gator High School football team. After high school, Dr. West furthered his education at Florida State University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science. Upon graduation from FSU, Dr. West was a high school science teacher at Palm Beach Lakes High School where he also coached the soccer, swimming and volleyball teams. While teaching at Palm Beach Lakes High School, Dr. West returned to graduate school at Florida Atlantic University where he obtained his Florida teaching certificate. Never losing sight of his dream to become an orthodontist, Dr. West left teaching to pursue a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science. While applying to dental school, he was employed as the Head Biologist for EnviroGlades, Inc. where he worked to help protect and restore South Florida’s coral reefs, wetlands and estuaries.

In 2001, Dr. West finally left South Florida to attend dental school at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He was president of his dental class and president of the Temple University Society for the Study of Orthodontics. He graduated with high honors, Summa Cum Laude, and was awarded a dual degree, Doctor of Medical Dentistry and Masters of Business Administration. In addition to dental school, Dr. West also completed his orthodontic residency program at Temple University where he received another Master of Science degree for his research involving Invisalign’s attachment effectiveness.

Dr. West has exceptional credentials and is committed to excellence in the practice of orthodontics. He is board certified and a member of numerous organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the Florida Association of Orthodontists, and the Florida Dental Association. In addition, Dr. West has also served as a delegate for the Atlantic Coast District Dental Association and as a board member for the North Palm Beach Dental Society.

Dr. West not only works in Jupiter, he and his wife Shelley also reside here and have recently started a family of their own. Daxton John West was born at Jupiter Medical Center on November 13, 2013, and has already brought so much joy to the family. In addition to the title of new mother, Shelley also manages the office, truly making Family Orthodontics a family practice. When Dr. West is not in the office he enjoys surfing, snowboarding, boating, scuba diving, and of course, spending time with his family and two dogs.

Hi, my name is Daxton, but people call me Dax. I was recently born at Jupiter Medical Center on November 13, 2013, and I am stoked to call myself a "Jupiter Native". My mommy was born in Florida and my daddy is practically a Florida native, as he was born in the Bahamas, and moved here in 1979. I don't think my daddy was even considering me back then but I'm sure glad he did now.

My mommy and daddy are the proud owners of Family Orthodontics. My current position at Family Orthodontics is to welcome everyone to our office. I've been thinking about what orthodontic residency program I want to attend so I can take over the practice one day, but I haven't made up my mind. When you come by our office you may find me eating, or sometimes taking a nap. That's pretty much all I like to do right now, eat, sleep and play. If you catch me in a good mood I may give you a smile, its toothless right now, but you get the idea.

I don't have many hobbies yet, but my daddy is always doing something. He can't sit still. We have been going to the beach a lot, and my mommy watches me while my daddy shreds some waves. He said he is going to teach me to surf with him as soon as possible. First I have to learn to swim this summer, and pass all of my swim skills. I can't wait! Well I think that's all for now. I hope you decide to join our office and watch me grow, now if you can help me find my binky I might be able to get some rest.

Hi my name is Natalie and I am proud to be the Head Orthodontic Assistant to Dr. West. I have been working as an Certified Orthodontic Assistant for over 12 years and I am happy to say that I love what I do. I was born in New York, but raised here in South Florida. I graduated top of my class from Piper High School. After high school, I first became certified as an orthodontic assistant and then later completed my certification for Dental Radiology from Nova Southeastern University.

In my personal life, I love to travel. I have had the great opportunity to visit North Africa, Morocco. While visiting Morocco, I met and fell in love with my husband. We have been married for six years and the greatest reward of our marriage has been the gift of our four year old son Adam. Adam brings us so much happiness! When I can, I enjoy photography, cooking, and baking. I am best at being a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a friend.

Hi my name is Nicole and I am a Certified Orthodontic Assistant. I grew up in Lake Worth, Florida and started my career in Orthodontics in 1997. I received my certification at Palm Beach State College in 1999. I love what I do and the greatest reward is to help people better their lives by improving their smile. I also enjoy spending time with my family. My brother Ryan lives here locally in Juno Beach with his wife, Marcy, and my nieces Kate and Marley. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, giving back to the community and relaxing by the pool.

Hi my name Teresa,  I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. I attended St. David High School and after graduation I started working as an orthodontic assistant. I married my high school sweet heart Doug, and moved to North Carolina while he was in the Army. I had a daughter Kristen while away, and then moved back to Michigan where we resided until 1985 when we moved to Florida. I presently reside with my husband in Stuart. My daughter Kristen her husband Luis and my two beautiful granddaughters live close by. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, fishing and riding with our motorcycle club.
